An X-ray needs to be taken to confirm whether everything is good or not In the involved tooth. We need to know whether there is any secondary decay or not.  If it is deep and cannot be filled...  You ll have to undergo RCT. Regarding the sensitivity, we need to assess wether there is enamel chip off or gums have Receded...which can only be confirmed by direct examination. Regards,  Dr. Som ranjan pathak

If pain is more towards evening mostly the tooth might need an root canal treatment,if pain is only for after eating or having cold things either filling is fractured or you have a new cavity either that or another tooth on the same side ,better to go for a check up n get an x-ray done to confirm or rule out RCT n follow the advice of the dentist
