My bby is 5 monthe 24 days old, due to her cough which was long standing her pcv vaccine is delayed her first dose of pcv which was suppose to be given at 6 week, she got it yesterday. It was delayed for 4 months
If vaccines are delayed for 4 months, are they less effective?
Why they are recommended to be given at specifuc age?

Vaccine is Equally effective even if you give it late..
Its given early coz in developing country like india peumonia is a major cause of death in infant period...so if we give early it will give protection early and prevent mortality and morbidity....
if u r starting PCV vaccine before 6 month in that case baby will need total 3 dose plus booster .
Any vaccine if given within stipulated age group is equally effective. Only thing is that immunity only starts after h fake vaccine.
