Diastasis recti is very common after two C-sections, and exercise is what actually closes the gap, not diet. Targeted core exercises that engage the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, rather than crunches or sit-ups, gradually bring the muscles back together over a few months.
Next Steps
A diet with enough protein helps your muscles heal and supports any exercise program, but on its own it will not close the separation. A pelvic floor physiotherapist can check the width and depth of your gap and give you a safe routine to follow.
Health Tips
Avoid heavy lifting or crunch-type movements until you've been assessed, since they can widen the gap further. Please see your gynaecologist or a physiotherapist for a proper exam.
