Dark Skin caused by skin irritation

Asked for Female, 21 Years

It's been more than a month since I used a whitening cream for my armpit. During the 1st week it seems doing well but on the 2nd week there are red spots started to appear. I discontinue using the cream and after a week. My armpit becomes more darker and it's darkness is not the usual dark of skin.
