Dandruff can be treated with lotions and shampoo (not commercial ones). Some people do have more oily scalp which cause visible flakes which we call dandruff. There are some other conditions also which can present like flaking of the scalp like sebopsoriasis and have to be ruled out. Do not apply oil on scalp as it will increase the problem. Please call me or contact me with photos through online consult option or visit me for treatment.

Thanks for the query. You need to meet a good Dermatologist to have a proper diagnosis. Such presentations are seen in different diseases which can be either psoriasis or eczema. Only when the diagnosis is ascertained, proper treatment can be initiated. If it is eczema, an attempt to find the triggers has to be made or else it keeps recurring. Do not lose hope and the problem can be cured for sure. Hope it helps.
