Dandruff and loss of hair
I've been suffering from Dandruff since 6-7 years.. Before that my hair growth was so good and bulky.. Now I've very thin hair.. Is it because of dandruff.. What should I do to get rid of this permanently? I tried so many products which advertise on TV, so many shampoos and all.. I've visited some doctors too, but I'm still suffering from this problem. What should I do to get rid of dandruff? Or to get my bulky hair growth back? And my face skin is so oily too.. How should I maintain it dry?

Hi! Dandruff is a common occurence. It has a tendency to recur. You have to take continuous efforts to keep it at bay. 1. Shampoo hair as frequently as required. Keep the hair clean. 2. Avoid hair styling products till dandruff goes off. 3. Use anti dandruff shampoo which contains ketoconazole once or twice a week. 4.Oil clean washed hair. 5. Do not try to scrape or comb away the flakes. Be gentle with your hair and scalp. 6. Wash your combs and brushes regularly. Do not share them. Hair in young men is usually attributed to hormones and genetics. Since we are unable to change your genetics, we can take steps to protect the hair you have and fight the effect of hormones and genetics. Options include using vitamins to balance your diet, such as a Hair/Nail/Skin vitamin. Topical medications such as minoxodil to increase blood flow to the hair follicle. Oral medication such as finastride to block the effects of hormones on the hair follicle.
Next Steps
Oily skin is a common cosmetic problem that is characterized by medium to large-sized pores, a shiny appearance, especially around the area of the nose, chin, and forehead, and a tendency to develop blemishes and blackheads. Stress, medications, hormones, incorrect products and changes in seasons can rob skin of needed moisture, causing it to produce a surge of oil to compensate for what’s lacking; overuse of products including make-up which is not suitable for your skin type, and sun tan can injure skin and cause it to produce excess oil. Skin always reacts in the opposite way to the way we want it to: the more vigorously you attempt to remove the sebum, the more skin will produce oil to replace it. It is therefore important to consult a dermatologist to understand what kind of products are to be used according to your skin type. A dermatologist can help you identify various cleansers, etc. which are most suitable to your skin to not only get immediate relief from oily skin but also avoid unpleasant itching and dryness. There are various chemical peels available which helps in cleaning the pores from within and it is always advisable to get peels done from a well-qualified dermatologist only.
