Simple cysts in kidney, incidentally detected during ultrasonography require only follow up in six monthly to year interval and do not need any active intervention unless there is pain on calculus formation or it is a complex cyst.
Multiple cysts in both kidneys may indicate adult polycystic disease in kidney and require more active follow up as it is a progressive disease
