Sleeping with the mouth open can be damaging to teeth. This is because breathing through the mouth dries it out - removing the protective effect of saliva, which has a natural ability to kill the bacteria in the mouth that produce acid. As acid levels rise through the night, tooth erosion and decay can begin. People who sleep open-mouthed have higher rates of tooth decay.
Next Steps
Visit a Orthodontist to correct your crooked teeth.
Health Tips
Try Breathing normally with your nose through the day , which will train your body to breathe through nose during the night as well.
