My 7 months old baby has cough and cold my doctor suggested me maxtra p 3ml and macbery junior 2.5ml.After giving medicine for a day, cough increased significantly..is it normal?is Antibiotic necessary to cure cough n cold

The suggested medicine is correct for the symptoms but it is ideal to give drops than suspension . Like Sinarest Af drops 0.5ml twice a day and Kofarest PD drops 0.5ml twice a day .
It also depends on type of cough also .
If cough is very spasmodic and associated with fever might require antibiotics also .
Cough requires a time to comedown
