Is it dry cough?
Did the child have a fever?

Cough from viral infections take time to go away- sometimes as long as 7 to 14 days, as the body recovers. On medication it will decrease and slowly improve over the days.

If he is active and has no weight loss, nothing to worry about. Cough due to viral infections is common and goes away after 1 or 2 weeks. Please visit a pediatrician for check up
