Cortical atrophy
What does it mean on an MRI scan when it says there is clear signs of "diffuse cortical atrophy" after a hypoxic ischemic event in a infant? Is this the same as cerebral palsy?

Cerebral palsy is a clinical diagnosis,one of the main root cause of which is hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy during childbirth.
Diffuse cortical atrophy is a radiological finding in CT/MRI,meaning that part is atrophied due to the above-mentioned cause,and usually that part has lost it's function.
