Corrective surgery for old toe break
4 or 5 years ago I broke my big toe for the second time sliding down the stairs at night. The original break damaged my nail bed to a degree, but it healed enough that I never noticed it again. The second break was worse and was cracked from side to side. The bone was not displaced. I think that I may have had a loose bone fragment. While the toe is not in constant pain, occasionally i have an uncomfortable clicking feeling. Is this something that could be corrected with little risk?

Hello. If it's not giving you trouble, it's better to let it be. Nonetheless,  if you decide on intervention,  please consult an orthopaedic surgeon.
