COPD with tachycardia where to go?
My mother (65 year) was being treated for CHF, Pulmonary edema and tachycardia for last 4 years. However, recently a cardiologist (after echo & ECG) told that it's not heart disease and referred to pulmonologist where she was diagnosed with COAD (after CT scan). After lungs treatment her SpO2 is improved from 85% to 95% but her tachycardia is continued. She is on previous cardiologist treatment as well. Now what can be done? What's the exact problem? Whom to change pulmonologist or cardiologist?

Hi. I understand your concern s. Do not worry about tachycardia if she is otherwise symptom free. Do a regular follow up with the treating pulmonologist.

It could be a COAD and CHF , co existing. It is difficult to say without examining her clinically. Tachycardia could be due to a number of reasons like, low oxygen, breathing treatments , low hemoglobin, etc. It is important to treat the underlying cause to control tachycardia.

I understand your concern. Your mother have probably a full diagnosis of... COPD with Secondary PAH (Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension) with cor pulmonale, a complication of long standing COPD.. ... A condition which can explain a sinus tachycardia(no arrhythmia on ECG as per your history)
Next Steps
A Pulmonologist is the best doctor, who can deal with the above mentioned conditions.
