My wife wants to know whether contraceptive pills like I pill are safe or not as she once had taken and had problem in her periods. we want some thing which do not have any side effects. can you suggest what should we go for and we do not want baby for atleast 2 year

They are meant for persons who have sex infrequently, say just once a month or so or even less frequently, which happens when couples meet infrequently due to job, shifts or location problems.................as you are not interested in a pregnancy for next 2 years, it would be best to switch on to regular oral contraceptive pills which come in 21,24,28 pills packs......These oral contraceptive pills have variety of hormone combinations and the doctor chooses them based on your health, requirements like weight loss, acne, etc, and your weight........so consult a gynecologist and ask for them
