My Husband is coughing continuous for more than a month. His father had an asthma problem. Need to know whether my husband is also suffering from asthma
Doctor Answers (1) on Continuous cough
Hi there... May be or may not be...just by your short history we can not diagnose asthma... Detailed history with clinical examination and investigations like pulmonary function tests are necessary to diagnose the condition....try reducing irritating stimuli (eg, cold, dry air; indoor or outdoor air pollutants) that may provoke coughing. An upright or semiupright posture, such as sleeping with the head and shoulders raised, may decrease cough related to pharyngeal secretions...other possibilities should be ruled out please consult nearest pulmonologist they will do the needful.
