Hello doctor, my son is 1.7yrs old. Since last 7days, he has been suffering from cold and low fever. Though the thermometer is showing normal now, only his fore head seems to be hot when I touch it. The temp of other parts of the body also seems to be of normal body temperature. Practically he is active and does his normal activities now but as a mother, I want to know whether it's normal scenario or something which we can further do for his treatment?

Most fevers in children are viral in origin and take 3-7 days to subside completely. If mild, just give steam inhalations for cold and use decongestant nasal drops for nasal block or increased cough on lying down. Give just paracetamol for fever and repeat every 4 hours if required. Head, palms and soles of feet are warmer than rest of the body in children this age.
