My father met an accident on 9th August and was having polytrauma. Since then several problems he was in ventilation then while OT process he met a massive heart blockage again ventilation. Admitted to Apollo Gleneagles he has now been discharged after 2 months on October 5th with Tracheostomy and having Silicon Catheter. At home we were told to have Oxygen and Suctioning facility. Now my question to u is that when we will understand he is recovering and that his tracheostomy tube can be removed.

If he regains full consciousness and is able to swallow his food without aspirating and can clear his respiratory passage secretions by coughing, the tracheostomy tube can be removed.
