Constipation
My newborn is 4 wks old. he was suffering from loose motion last week ,motion test results the following " reducing substance in stool 1+" so doctor said it's lactose intolerance and  asked me to feed  soy based fm and bm alternately.I am doing that now  and loose motion was stopped.now for the past 2 days he doesn't poop. internet says it's common among new born not to.poop for few days. but I feel like he is struggling to poop, is this sign of constipation? What should I do now

Doesn’t not seem like an issue, U may wait for 2-3 more days U need to be concerned only if baby is not feeding, or baby is passing less urine, or she/he is dull and lethargic Yes babies go without pooping for 1 week to 10 days without any issues, but keep in mind the red flag signs I mentioned

Stool frequency of babies can changes over time. He will pass stool 10-15 times a day to one in a week. If baby is straining with passing stool then you can give medicine otherwise no medicine required. Continue breastfeeding. And burping for 15 minutes after each feeds. Please share photo once baby passes the stool.
