Constipation
Dear Doctor, My 3 year old baby had severe stomach pain a week back. When I went to the doctor, he inserted diclofenac suppository and she was fine on that day. However, since then she was not pooping freely and suffering from constipation. What could be the reason? How can I treat her

Regards! Your daughters age correspond to the age of toilet training, toddlers tend to develop behavioural constipation while they are trained. There is a set criteria for such diagnosis if requiring disimpaction of faeces, feel free to consult to rule out that. Proper toilet training and maintaining a circadian rythm would be the mantra to prevent such painful episodes

Constipation very common at this age   Change all bad food habits in babies It will help Give ur baby plenty of oral liquids,  (Plain water, Fruits and fruit juices including seasonal Fruits) Give fiber rich food items in diet. Green vegetable, beans, carrots, sweet potatos will work. Avoid to give maida products like biscuits and mainly bakery products Restrict milk intake to 400-500 ml per day  Do tummy massage if possible Add some stool softner  or laxatives if advised by  pediatrician.
