Constipation after operation
My mother aged 68 years has been suffering from constipation since last 2 days after undergoing wide local excision surgery of cold abscess on neck skin. She is on post operative antibiotics & pain killers since last 2 days. kindly suggest best medicines or syrup to get her out from this problem of constipation post surgery. I am having looz syrup, giving 15-20 ml of it during bedtime would help??? or any other medicines are also required??? Thanks a lot for your valuable suggestions

You dont have to worry much
Syp looz shoup be given (lactulose) in the night time15 30 ml is a starting dose
Next Steps
drink lots of water
add fibres to her diet prunes and she can have khichdi.
If she is allowed to move she should walk little
Have warm water too

On the basis of yours mother post history -
First you should give 4-5 litre per day to your mother and if again constipation occurs then give looz syrup .
And if again constipation occurs then you should take consultation from a doctor to make correct diagnosis .
