Consistent fatigue
I was having severe fatigue from a long time , thyroid , diabetes , and na k are normal . Doctor prescribed me fludac 10 in morning and clonazepam 0.25 at night .Initial 2 weeks were good ,I got lots of energy , felt very motivating and could perform all my tasks . But after 2 weeks , feeling off , restlessness while sleeping ( I had no anxiety use ), and small like 30 mins walk is causing muscle pain ,and not that same energy boost . Is that medicine working for me , should I stick to it or what should I do pls suggest. I also have severe insomnia

🧠 My Opinion: Fludac 10 (fluoxetine) is an SSRI antidepressant and often causes an initial energy boost or improvement in motivation within the first 2 weeks due to its activating nature. However, the "wearing off" effect you're describing—fatigue, restlessness, muscle pain—could indicate several possibilities: Initial placebo or noradrenergic surge effect has worn off Underlying fatigue syndrome or somatic symptoms resurfacing Potential side effects like restlessness or myalgia (rare but possible with SSRIs) Clonazepam 0.25 mg is a short-term aid for insomnia and anxiety but can cause dependence or paradoxical effects if not tapered timely.
Next Steps
🧭 Next Step (What should the patient do next?): Please revisit your psychiatrist to reassess your dosage and clinical response. Your symptoms may need: Dose adjustment or titration of Fludac Consideration of other SSRIs or SNRIs A re-evaluation for other psychiatric or medical conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Vitamin D/B12 deficiency, or Somatoform disorders Structured therapy for sleep (like CBT-I) alongside medications
Health Tips
⚠️ Helpful Tips / Word of Caution: Avoid increasing or stopping medicines on your own. Fatigue and muscle pain can be side effects or part of underlying depression/anxiety. Ensure proper hydration, nutrition, sunlight exposure, and light exercise. Severe insomnia should be addressed both medically and with behavioral sleep hygiene techniques. --- 📍 Dr Shivam Bhandari Jain — Consultant Psychiatrist 🏥 Health 4 U Clinic, 249 Gufa Mandir Road, Near First Step School, Jain Nagar, Nayapura, Lalghati, Bhopal 🕕 Clinic Timings: Monday to Saturday, 6 PM – 8 PM 📲 Instagram: @mentalhealth.4you ⭐ Google us: Search Dr Shivam Bhandari Jain on Google for location & reviews.

If you are feeling lethargic, low energy, you can consult your doctor again. Medications need to be optimised, Clonazepam may be gradually tapered and other alternative options for sound sleep may be prescribed. Do not adjust the dose on your own, discuss your queries in detail with doctor

Hello, it's good that you initially felt better with Fludac and Clonazepam, but sometimes after the first few weeks, the body adjusts, and side effects or fluctuating response can occur. Restlessness, sleep issues, and fatigue may need dose adjustment or supportive changes. I suggest consulting once to review your treatment and modify the plan, especially considering your insomnia and muscle pain. With proper adjustments, your symptoms can be managed better.
