Conflicting weight charts for children
I'm trying to determine if my 9.5-year-old child is overweight or not. There is conflicting information out there, both in terms of BMI online calculators (inputting age, weight, height), and growth charts where the same information is plotted on a graph from the RCPCH book. The online BMI calculator says at 9.5 yrs, 36KG and 1.32M, he is overweight in 97th percentile. Plotting graph places him at 50th (height) and 91st (weight) percentile. I'm confused.
