Colostomy closure
Had colostomy surgery about 2.5 months back. now time is near for closing it. i want to know how much time is needed to recover after colostomy closure surgery ? and any advice you want to give. thank you.

Hello, I am sorry to hear that what you have gone through. As you have mentioned it was a temporary colostomy, and will be closed soon. I would like to inform you that there are few different procedures for reversal of temporary colostomy operation.  Usually it will take around 1 week to 2 weeks hospital stay, with intravenous fluid, parenteral nutrition. After discharge from hospital it will take another couple of weeks or so for regaining normal bowel function. It may take more time in some instances. In the mean time constipation or diarrhea
