Closed cervix during HSG

Asked for Female, 31 Years

I had my HSG appointment today (8th day of period). However, the test could not happen as my cervix was closed. Doctor suggested misoprost before HSG and retry the test tomorrow. Is it normal to have cervix closed? Or is it problematic?

Sometimes the cervix cannot be negotiated and is tightly closed. We give misoprostol tablet and it opens and bit and then with a fine cannula it can be manipulated
