Hello
Chondromalacia patellae is detoriation of cartilage and restoring any kind of detoriation takes time let it be any medicine. In case you see any improvement don't give up on your treatment. Also i think a second opinion should not be a problem as it might help you know any deficiency related to your complain or may be a diet or exercise regime that might help you but better consult your doctor before starting any other medicines

Kindly stop any sort of rigrous running and go for normal walk (If you feel the pain is still there, its advised to have 2-4 days of complete rest). Improve your walking or running posture and consult any good doctor.
Next Steps
