Chewing of Bettlenuts
Hi, I have developed a habit of chewing bettlenut from past six months. These bettlenuts are not flavoured or does contains any chemicals. I might have been eating about 1 bettlenut in four days. Will this habit affect me in any health issue like cancer or any other minor issue.

Arecanut or betel nut contains an alkaloid Arecholine which is carcinogenic and is the culprit for a host of oral and throat cancers. Observe the inside of your cheeks. if they have changed from pink to white streaks or mottled black, these are precancerous changes. STOP THIS HABIT IMMEDIATELY.
