CGM vs blood sugar
Hi doctor, I have a CGM on my arm and the values that it shows has very vast different from the blood sugar taken from my finger. For example today morning fasting reading was 96 on the CGM but when I checked on the glucometer it came as 130 first time and 140 from second time prick. What values should I consider as my doctor reduced my medicine looking at the CGM but blood values are vary

So CGM Reading has lag of 15 mins to Glucometer reading as both are measuring glucose from different fluids. So First measure From Glucometer and after 10-15 minutes Check CGM Reading- The difference will decrease. This difference is minimum when glucose level is steady like in Fasting and resting state and difference is higher when glucose level is rapidly changing like in Post meal state Or while Exercising. On Day 1 of CGM readings might not be accurate and can be on hypoglycemic side so avoid considering reading of Day 1. When feeling symptoms of hypoglycemia, check sugar with Glucometer rather than with CGM as CGM may take some time to show hypoglycemia. Also usually Glucometer older than 2 years doesn't show accurate readings as they require recalibration.
