I got a cartilage piercing about 11 months ago.(stud gun piercing- stud is made of surgical metal)
It doesn't hurt if not disturbed. But if there is some kind of movement such as it getting stuck in hair or in a t-shirt or pressing too hard on it, it will hurt. I can't sleep on that ear sometimes. It's not swollen out of the ordinary, been the same size for 9 months now after the initial swelling went down. Every 2-3 days I see this yellow brown crust forming around the piercing. I don't know what to make of that. I was told it should heal after 6-8 months. I don't think it has, atleast not completely.
I need to know if I should visit a doctor or wait some more time for it to heal.
If you can suggest any over the counter medications that might help the healing, that would also help.
Thank you.
