I would like to have a conversation with a doctor who actually has knowledge about CHS because i feel im going through the symptoms since a month now and need help.
I used to consume 2 joints a day, i decided to reduce to 1 joint a month ago, and ive stopped since today because its nit getting any better.
very confused between withdrawal and CHS.
Hi, stopping cannabis is an important step. Cannabis withdrawal and Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS) can have overlapping symptoms, so it may be difficult to distinguish them without a medical assessment. Since your symptoms have persisted for a month, please consult a doctor experienced in CHS or addiction medicine. If you have persistent vomiting, severe abdominal pain, or signs of dehydration, seek urgent medical care. Avoid restarting cannabis to manage the symptoms.

Stopping is a big step, and itâs understandable to feel confused right now. The two conditions can overlap, so itâs worth knowing the difference.
CHS mainly shows up as repeated episodes of nausea and vomiting in people who have used cannabis regularly for a long time. Hot showers often bring relief. The only lasting treatment is stopping cannabis completely, which youâve already done.
withdrawal more often shows up as irritability, anxiety, restlessness, poor sleep, vivid dreams, low appetite, and cravings. It usually peaks in the first week and settles over about 2â4 weeks.
A doctor needs to examine you to tell which one you have. Either way, staying off cannabis is the right path, and the coming weeks are when support matters most.
Next Steps
See a physician soon, especially if youâre vomiting, so they can check you and confirm whatâs going on. Consider a few sessions with a psychologist to manage cravings, sleep, and anxiety during this period, and to plan what to do in the situations where you used to smoke.
