Can you guide me about Jaundice level
My baby is 8days 12 hrs old(39wks+3day),in bilirubin test value was 17.45. when she was 36 hrs old, her bilirubin was 18.5 and she got admitted in nicu after 48hrs in nicu photo therapy bilirubin was 16 and more 12 hrs after it was 14.9. they discharged baby from hospital. Now its 8 days completed we again went for bilirubin check up and it again increased now doctors suggesting to admit again for photo therapy . Is it still required when baby is around 9 days old.

Hi Mam ...before commenting I need to know your blood group , baby blood group , other tests reports like Hb , reticulocytes count etc etc and also see the baby in personas there are many causes of new born jaundice ...sometimes it may be rebound rise in bilirubin level after initial photo therapy which may need photo therapy again ... Kindly see your Neonatologist ...if not satisfied pls see a nearby Neonatologist in person...
