Can Pegclear solution be taken directly?

Recently I had problem of constipation and my doctor told me to take 2 spoon pegclear oral solution without water at bedtime but on the bottle of peglclear it is written that solution has to be mixed with water before taking it. So can you pls tell me is it safe to take pegclear oral syrup without water? Can it be taken directly without water?
