Can keloid be cancerous
My mom has keloid or hypertrophic scar on navel developed after uterus surgery. It has been 15 years , they didnt cause any pronlem. From the last two years my mom is doing yoga and the result are that keloid starts to shrink. Many keloids got shrink as she has many . From last four days she is having pain in belly under keloid. Doc gave medicine linezoid, trypsin chemotrypsin and sigmo flam . The swelling in the belly has gone but with in three days the keloid starting to swell . Doc said it will be cancerous and now we all are worried . My mom has no other symptom . She is fit and fine. Please suggest can this be cancerous The one is before 3 days and the second pic is after taking medicine.

Keloids patients had a 1.73-fold higher risk of developing skin cancer compared to non-keloids patients, and male patients with keloids had an even higher RR . The underlying mechanisms of the association between keloids and human cancers remain to be determined.
