Hello, Calcium is likely safe  for most people when taken by mouth or when given intravenously. Calcium is posssible unsafe for both adults and children when taken by mouth in high doses. Avoid taking too much calcium. For preventing low calcium levels: 1 gram elemental calcium daily is typically used.consult general physician .
