Bronchitis COPD comprises i) Chronic obstructive bronchitis (clinically defined) and ii) Emphysema (pathologically or radiologically defined). Many patients have features of both. SX – Cold, cough productive of sputum, fever, fatigue, hemoptysis. PE – Lungs (wheezes). Clubbing on digits.
Next Steps
DX – ABG, CBC (inc WBC). Sputum Cx, gram stain (identification of pathogen, either bacterial or viral). Viral titers, mycoplasma titers. CXR (infiltrates). PFT (evaluate for asthma/COPD).
Health Tips
TX – Amantadine for influenza A - 100mg PO BID x 3-5 days. Amoxicillin 500mg + Clavulanate 125mg BID. Macrolide - Azithromycin 500mg PO x 1, then 250mg PO QD x 4 days, if Mycoplasama. Antitussive - Viscodyne (Levocetirizine 0.8mg + ambroxol 15mg + phenylephrine 5mg + guaiphenesin 50mg/5ml). Budesonide inhaled 2 puffs inhaled BID. Smoking Cessation. Treatment of the COPD.

who advised u so?..actually  3 tabs per day fr 5 days is correct dose. u shud complete full course to avoid resistance ,and reccurance of infection
