I am 26 years old boy. I used to take opium till 6 months. After I quit now I am taking buprenorphine and naloxone 1 mg. But now I have breathing problem and short breath. Doctor prescribed me deflazacort 6 mg and acebrophylline 100 mg. But I got to know that deflazacort is steroid even I am taking these medicines for 4 days now, I still have problem with breathing. Is it normal or doctor prescribed me wrong medicines or do these medicines take time to cure. Please help me.

The medication should work fine and it will take some time..but if your problem persists, it is better to go for CT chest and spirometry to check for other problems. Was opium taken in inhaled route? Then you could have an obstructive airway disease
Next Steps
CT chest and Spirometry
Health Tips
avoid smoking if any

Kindly get a CT chest done to r/o any other lung related issues and then Pulmonary function tests to decide need for inhalers. Steroids should help however proper evaluation of shortness of breath needs to be done.
