Breathometer is made for monitoring of treatment response and to predict an exacerbation in asthmatics. The values depends upon device also. Single value is of no value. Regular monitoring is required. However as a common rule more than 450 is considered as normal value for indian population .

Breathometer is mainly for asthma patients for not a single value, but to measure drug response & to see whether one is having started an exacerbation of asthma, means worsening of asthma, if reading are decreasing from previous values.. So it is more of a prognostic marker.. Means to compare one's own values of PEF with his or her past values.
