Bone crack treatment with screw?
My Dad 74 yrs, has fell down from bike 2 weeks back and he had minor pain in his Right leg, when we checked with a Doctor, he suggested to perform screw stitch for his broken ankle bone, attached the xray and prescription. Wanted to know your expert suggestion on what treatment is best for my Dad in this situation. Also last year March he went through by pass surgery, he is also a diabetic and bp patient and currently under insulin, blood thinner and other tablets.

The X-ray shows undisplaced medial malleoli fracture . As these fracture have an high incidence of nonunion, we would suggest screw fixation as advised by the doctor Due to his medical problems, the fitness for surgery is determined by the doctors It can be treated with plaster considering the risk of non union , which will need Surgery as the only option
