Blood test shows Chest infection
I am asking behalf of my son-in-law. Report indicates the worst case of pneumonia because of having chest infection. Now it is becoming very hard to take breath. Current situation is that he is in ICU. The doctor who is taking care is good as a general physician. I'm confused whether we should go for chest specialist because this case is related to chest infection. My son-in-law is in serious situation. We are so much worrying. Is this curable very soon. Could you please provide your valuable inputs and suggest what we should do now?

No need to be worried. Pneumonia can be cured fully. But some times it takes a week or a two or a month also. Ask them to do sputum or tracheal culture and sensitivity test, and start antibiotics according to them. Follow up should be done by regular X-rays
