Blood in mucus in morning

Asked for Male, 32 Years

I am experiencing blood in mucus in the morning since 2 days, I am having cough and cold these days, what could be the reason for blood spit, I am a smoker, I had travelled at altitudes last week. Can cold and flu be the reason? I am too afraid to go to doctor and take tests, pls advise

As you have cough and cold.. sinusitis may have developed..so it may come from nose..lung causes should also be ruled out.better to visit an ENT specialist for proper assessment.
