Can anyone tell...In how many days after being covid positive can I be assured that the risk of me receiving black Fungus is low?... And do the people who are covid negative need to worry or take precautions for Black Fungus?

Don't worry. There is no any thumb rule for black fungus. If symptoms appear then only consult  to your Doctor physically. Till then, take proper Hygiene and All preventive measures for the same.

Black fungus or Mucormycosis is not seen commonly in normal population. But patients with uncontrolled diabetes gets covid and if they are  on high dose steroids they have chances of getting Mucormycosis.

Mucor and rhizopus is an opportunistic fungal infection. Risk only in post covid patients only in keto diabetic (DM) or immunocompramised states .

High risk for black fungus are irrational use of steroid use of humidifier oxygen high blood sugar level immunocompromised pt This fungus does not attack on people with normal immunity For more quries contact me on practo.

It is a matter of cleanliness and immunity of your body. Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness is the key precaution. Wash your mask after every use, air dry it properly and always use a clean and dry mask.

Yes definitely should take precautions where covid positive or not You need to understand that BLACK FUNGUS did not just come out of NOWHERE And mostly occurs in immunocompromised individuals Due to steroid therapy / Diabetes or any other chronic condition or drugs leading to decrease in immunity

Keep your surroundings clean Wear mask where there is a lot of dust or moist and damp places Construction sites etc Use bouled water Clean your nebulisers / steamers / oxygen masks and humidifiers properly

If you were not addmitted then chance of black fungus is low. Just take precaution and dont use mask for more than 1 day. Wash it and dry it in pure sunlight or dispose it.
