Birth control pills & Anti Depressants
Hi, my psychologist has prescribed me flunil (cal 20 mg once a day) + Tab Lonazep 25mh hs for night for mild depression. My question is, can i still continue my birth control pils called yamini with the above (Drospirenone IP - 3mg / Ethinylestradiol IP - 0.03 mg)? Or should i stop taking the birth control whilst i'm on the above mild antidepressants?

Dear mam
Thank you for your query.
Fluoxetine ( fluid) can interfere with the liver enzyme that metabolize birth control pills and thus can reduce the level of birth control pill in the body.
Hence, it is advisable that you use an alternative birth control method if you are taking the above medications.
