Since it’s an oesophageal malignancy, it is better to do PET CT and other imaging to exactly stage the disease before proceeding with the therapy. What you have shared in an abdominal ultrasound scan which in not enough of imaging to rule out potential cancer spread . GE junction adenocarcinoma can actually be treated in different ways. The exact therapy depends on the stage of the disease. We need imaging to know the exact stage of the disease. Chemo radiation or chemotherapy and followed by a surgery or surgery followed by chemotherapy all are treatment options the best according to studies for the particular type of cancer is chemotherapy followed by surgery followed by further chemotherapy . Radiation of of limited use here ,but the treatment should be decided by seeing the patient condition also . Your doctor may have taken the decision based on that . To give you a second opinion you can consult me with available history including patient condition available reports , only after discussing would be able guide you further .
