Binge eating disorders
Hi, Is there any medication treatment for binge eating disorders? Or a psychological? I try to control it but end up eating excess food and then feel guilty of eating it.

Hi You can consult a psychologist to treat binge eating. It is important to know the reasons for binge eating. There are certain factors that cause binge eating such as stress and anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression. If you can explain about what could be the reason for binge eating with a psychologist he/she will be able to guide you on how you can overcome binge eating. You want to get rid of binge eating and make changes to your lifestyle. It is important to remember that you can make changes to your lifestyle and achieve your goal.

Hi... Please try Psychotherapy first before resorting to any kind of medication. Binge eating occurs due to various reasons including, but not limited to, poor routine, high stress, poor social contact, loneliness, interpersonal/ career/academic pressure, etc. It may or may not be at the level of an eating disorder. To get a proper diagnosis, you can consult a Psychiatrist. For Psychotherapy/Counselling, you can consult a Psychologist.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychologist for Counselling/Psychotherapy. CBT along with Motivational Counselling and Lifestyle Guidance is required.
