A liver-healthy diet involves lowering salt intake, eating more carbohydrates, and cutting down on protein consumption Excess salt can worsen liver damage. Processed foods, such as those that come in a can or frozen package, have lots of sodium, so it is best to avoid these. Check the labels on any packaged foods before you offer them to your loved one. You might also consider using a salt substitute If you jaundice is related to alcohol or drug abuse, encourage yourself to get help quitting.
