Biliburin level
My baby is a preterm baby (35weeks 1day) when he was 6days okd biliburin level was 16.8 and dctr advised for phototherapy for two days..now his biliburin level is 6..is he safe now? What precuations should i take to keep the biliburin level safe when i reach home..

His bilirubin levels are okay and he can be taken home. You need to monitor if he is 'getting more yellow'. You press over your newborn over bony prominence like over forehead, chest, legs,palms and soles and see if they are yellowish. Do not get stressed if you cannot examine yourself. Examination can only be done in daylight. take care of your baby as he is premature and needs precautions for proper growth and development. If you feel any doubts, consult.
