Bile acid in pregnancy
Hello doctor I am 23 week pregnant with twins and from 19 week my left is deranged Last blood on 5 june Current taking sedogest 450mg thrice a day, cirrosam 400mg twice a day and choltran twice a day.   AST improved: 529 → 263 → 228 ALT improved: 847 → 455 → 391 Bilirubin improved and is now normal Itching improved significantly Albumin slightly improved Bile acids increased: 68 → 89 ALP : 162 → 194 Why is bile acid increasing? Do help plz

A diagnosis of Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy have been made for you and thats why you have been given these drugs. But You need to rule out some other diseases such as PBC or Autoimmune liver disease. USG abodmen should be done to rule out chronic Liver disease

Get Total IgG and serum AIH profile and AMA (Anti mitochondrial antibody) done.
