Betadine/Cremagel side effect?
4 weeks back, I had perianal abscess drainage surgery, which has now healed. Post operation, i used to do sitz bath with Betadine 10% mixed in the water (10ml in 2ltr water), 3 times a day. I started developing redness and irritation around the anus. To reduce the irritation, i started applying Cremagel L, but the irritation did not reduce. Later, I got to know that Betadine and Cremagel can cause skin irritation. So I stopped using both and now apply Lox 2% gel since yesterday. The irritation has reduced. From the image i have attached, could you please confirm if the redness in the anus is due to Betadine/Cremagel side effect or if it is something else?

Its not a reaction from betadine. Replenish your micronutrient deficiency with some B complex and Zinc supplements which will give strength to the skin and aid in healing. Don't strain too much while defecating. If you are passing hard stools consult a doctor. Avoid excessive sweating in the area
