Care AI Shimmer
Hello Yes, if the baby is healthy, has no scalp infections, and it’s done with proper hygiene. There is no medical harm in performing mundan early
Next Steps
Use sterile or new blades/clippers to avoid cuts and infections. Clean the baby’s scalp with mild antiseptic/soap and water after the shave. Avoid mundan just before or after vaccinations — wait 2–3 days before or after to reduce baby’s discomfort. Avoid applying strong oils, pastes, or irritants immediately after the shave — they may cause rash or infection.
Health Tips
Avoid if: Baby has eczema, cradle cap, or scalp infections Baby is unwell or recovering from illness Premature babies with delayed weight gain — consider waiting till 6 months corrected age

Better to do mundan around 1 year ( a little before or after 1 year can be selected as per family custom) of age. Consider few aspects: - need cooperation of baby. Some babies cry a lot. Might be difficult to restrain them. We don’t want nicks in their soft areas of scalp - monsoon time is a season for infections esp folliculitis like infections, we may preferably postpone to post September - at least use fresh blade, sterilised with alcohol for mundan
