Bald patch in beard
Sir, I have been losing my hair (head)at a very fast pace in the last year but had not consulted any doctor thinking it as one of genetic thing one goes through. But suddenly a bald patch has appeared on my left cheek near the ear and the it has started growing too. I read about it and it seems like a case of alopecia aerata. Request you to suggest ways to get the normal hair growth back in my beard.

You may be having alopecia areata. this is an autoimmune condition due to the attack of lymphocytes against hair roots. It results in the formation of bald patches on the scalp. It can affect any hairy area of the body also like eyebrows and  beard. It has to be treated properly for long duration until the immunity comes down. Once the immunity is controlled, hair grows back over the patches. Please contact me with photos using online consult option for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
