Baby vomiting
My son is 4months old he has reflux. We are giving him Domstal suspension 1mg syrup 0.8ml twice a day. He usually throws up one full feed on daily basis. His intake is around 700ml. He is active and weights around 6kgs. Can you please suggest us if we should continue with domstal since it has been a month with this syrup. And if yes what would be the correct quantity to continue? Kindly suggest because this is the only biggest concern of him throwing up as we have also done the ultrasound for stomach and found no issues. Hence we are really confused why is this happening?

Hi thr...usually infants do have regurgitation for few months of life....after each feed burping practice should be done on regular basis.....0.8 ml dose of domstal is also way higher than recommended for ur baby weight... and domstal is not given continues on daily basis for regurgitation...we need to rule out the common causes of regurgitation like GERD and yes other serious causes also like raised ICP which is less likely..

Reflux in infants is a normal variant. Since ur child is having very gud weight gain, reflux should not be a big concern. INFANTILE reflux should subside in infants by age of 6months to 9months.
Next Steps
1.avoid frequent feeding 2.decrease the quantity of each feed and increase time gap between each feed 3.continue domestal drops 0.8 ml twice daily 4.upright position after feeds 5. proper burping 6.if on mother's milk , mother avoid dairy products
Health Tips
reflux not reducing after 6months or child not gaining weight well needs to be evaluated
